Any word yet on how we will be able to get into the same server / world as our friends?

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to stop by and let everyone know about a new Final Fantasy XIV linkshell/community that's starting up. We're looking to build a bit of a prelaunch community and to at least put together a foundation of players that can venture out into Eorzea together, recruiting more fresh faces as we go along.

The style of this community will be casual/social based, but we intend to also to pepper in some fun scheduled events that will allow us to get everyone in one place now and then, to have some fun as a group.

Anyway, to explain a little more about us, here's a blurb from our front page:

I feel that the below is a very good representation of what we're all about, so before hitting the Apply button, please read the below carefully to ensure that this is the right community for you. I'll keep this as short as possible.

Zero Hour is primarily a social based Final Fantasy XIV community, and as such the requirements for our members are simple: Be Fun, Be Friendly, and Be Helpful!

Don't be fooled though, because Zero Hour is not just a chat room. We will be holding occasional events to help accomplish the goals of our members, to help members of our community get to know each other better, and to give us an excuse to get everyone together and have some fun!

In addition to the above, I am currently looking for a few like minded individuals who would be interested in playing a bigger part in this community, to become officers.

There will be no preferential treatment to officers, they will simply be individuals besides myself that are willing to donate their time for the good of the community and to assist in arranging events, planning games, and helping to resolve conflicts.

I am the leader of a new link shell called Equinox. I come from a long line of MMO's spanning from EQoA, EQ2, WoW, and most recently Aion. I have always played and been a leader in top end guilds and wish to continue to do so here. With that said I am looking for like minded players.

Equinox's Mission Statement:

Equinox is a progression-oriented hardcore Final Fantasy XIV raiding guild comprised of some of the world's best players from other raid-centric MMOs. We are driven to be the best, and we will push ourselves to down new content as quickly as possible. Even when we fail to down a boss first, we will continue to push ourselves to win so we can better prepare ourselves to take down the next boss.

Equinox's Expectations:

Dedication - We expect but do not demand your time and dedication to the guild as a whole. We do not demand this because if you do not wish to give the time and dedication needed to succeed, this is not the guild for you.

Respect - This one is very important, not only do you need to respect Equinox as a guild, but you must respect your fellow members and the community of FFXIV as a whole. We take pride in our reputation and anyone willing to tarnish this will be subject for removal.

No Drama - Drama has no place in Equinox. If you're a drama queen, you may want to consider broadway, not this guild.

No Greed - Greed is an evil word, and a word that will never be welcome in Equinox. If you're only looking out for yourself, then you may want to find a new place to do it. Do not let greed cloud your judgment.

Equinox

I started my MMO career back in FFXI and since then nothing has had the feel and community of it. That is being said after playing WoW and EQ II to endgame. I dabbled a bit with Warhammer, Aion and a few others that just did nothing for me at all.

I play to have fun but also being retired I play as if it was a job. Ie. I research then go do then research some more then do. I pride myself in knowing as much as I can before doing any task at hand. Some of that comes from military background and a bit is leftover from the almost total Japanese LS I was in.

I hope this board does get up and takes off doing great things.

not sure if its cause I use firefox but the profile upload page looked funny, everything was running over each other.

It is actually a awesome game. My agency owns pretty much the bottom half of the server Warlord as far as land goes. For some reason the game has gotten alot of bad reviews but it is all and all unique idea.

If you really think about it no matter what game you play its a copy of something else in some way its just how things grow to become better things in the first place.

Thought I'd say hi and introduce myself.

I've played NWN, Silkroad, GW, and Aion, but never any of the Final Fantasy games...I know, I know (lol). I'm a PC only gamer and recently decided to leave Aion and NCsoft all together. There were a number of issues, but the main reason I left was because of all the accounts that were getting hacked. I'm thinking about signing-up to play XI just to familarize myself with the game and was wondering if you all think that would help or not. I'm really impressed with everything I've seen and read about FFXIV and hope to play in the betas. That's it, I guess. Looking forward to learning the game and becoming a part of the community.

Yay, I'm back! Had to rebuild my computer but now it is AMAZING!

Well also the fact that they know all the ps3's are gonna have the same "processing power" as to a computer they need to figure's out the min and req system reqs since everyone has different hardware.
